So, last month I was lucky enough to get the pass to attend KubeCon Virtually, all thanks to Kunal and because of that, I was able to attend KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2022 Virtually. Since I attended and learned so many amazing things I thought why not make a blog and share my experience? Here I am now with a blog about my whole experience of KubeCon 2022.

This is the list of the sessions I was interested in:

I was very excited about all the events listed above but unfortunately, I was not able to attend all the events because I guess the streaming web app was having some sort of issues due to which folks like me who are joining from India couldn't join properly. Also, honestly, it was pretty hard to understand how the website works, it took me too much time to figure it out on my own. But, no worries I agree that I missed most of them but I was able to join a few amazing talks like:

  • The Mentor-Mentee Framework by Mark Boost and Kunal Kushwaha from Civo: Honestly, this was such a great talk by Mark(CEO of Civo) and Kunal(DevRel at Civo). Here, Mark and Kunal talked about how you can become a good mentor and a good mentee. If you didn't know, Mark mentored Kunal and this makes the talk more amazing to listen to. I also made a detailed Twitter thread about this topic. To read the thread you can click here

  • A session on GitOps by Saiyam Pathak from Civo: I attended another amazing session on GitOps by Saiyam Pathak(Director at Civo). Honestly, KubeCon talks were pretty overwhelming but this session was so well explained.

Apart from these, a few sessions which really made me curious were:

  • The 10 Biggest mistake you shouldn't make in open source by Bill Mulligan, Isovalent, and Divya Mohan, SUSE
  • Tips for fighting imposter syndrome by Aurelie Vache, OVHcloud

As I said I couldn't attend them because of the issue but that couldn't stop my curiosity. I googled and read about these and also got some notes which I wanna share. Click Here.

Apart from the talks, I also saw the pictures and videos from people who were there at KubeCon, and trust me I really got FOMO( Fear Of Meaning Out). I wish I could have attended it physically. Imagine, seeing so many amazing people from all over the world sharing and learning together in person. That's so awesome! I hope I will get to attend KubeCon in person someday.

Well, that's all about my experience. I am very grateful that I was able to attend it virtually but let's be honest, nothing can beat in-person events!

You can follow me on Twitter. Also, thanks to Pooja for telling me about this special track.
